The Real Woman

The Real Woman grows roses from the thorns of life!

The Real Woman grows roses from the thorns of life! You  must learn to take the fertilizer, the hurt and heartache of life,  and grow roses! You have to  plant your own garden with the seeds from His Word and cultivate the soil of your heart with praise and thanksgiving.

Rebekah – A Woman with Great Potential

Rebekah asked, "If all is well, why am I like this?" (Genesis 25:22). Have you ever felt like Rebekah? Feeling a struggle within, but no understanding of what was happening? Rebekah inquired of the Lord and He answered her by telling her what was going on, and what would happen in the future. Years later we see the same woman that had...

Rachel had it all …but was not content
I’m sure you have met someone that appears to have it all together! A beautiful face with no blemishes, perfect body, interesting career, a devoted husband and perfect children! I used to have a habit of comparing myself with others.  No matter where I was I would see someone that was attractive, well-dressed with her perfect children and full of confidence. Immediately I would feel like I was doing everything wrong starting with my body and hairstyle, and all my life skills.  I had formed a habit in my thought patterns and I didn’t even realize what I was doing, it just came ‘naturally’. One day I spoke to one of these imagined perfect people and heard what was coming from the inside. She had learned how to ‘look good’ on the outside, but her inside was full of bitterness. As I thought on this situation I realized that I had been judging from outward appearance and I knew absolutely nothing about the person.  Comparing myself to other women is not part of God’s plan for my life. Learning from other women is.
Eve – First Lady of the Garden
If ever a woman had everything going her way it was Eve! She had a perfect husband, a perfect home with no dust and no laundry. No dirty socks to pick up! She was the first woman, first wife, first grandmother, first seamstress - first in everything! First sinner! Eve was also the first person to receive the promise of redemption! Eve, the First Lady of the Garden was in the right place, where God had placed her, but she was out of position. We have a place in the natural, and a position in the Spirit. When God approached Adam and Eve after their fall, He did not come with accusation, but with a question, "Where are you?" (Gen. 3:9). He was not asking their physical place, but their spiritual position. Where are you in your relationship with me? Where are you in the plans and purposes that I commanded for you? "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Gen. 1:28)
Mary & Martha, Keep Your Focus!
How often we have heard teaching on these two dear women of God? Jesus loved Martha and Mary. They were both His friends. Martha became irritated over everyday matters and lost her focus! Mary kept her focus on spiritual matters and received insight and understanding. Martha walked in the natural and did not discern spiritual matters because her mind was on things of the natural. Mary walked in the Spirit because she had learned to meditated the Word of God day and night (Joshua 1:8) which caused her to live by the principles of her heavenly home bringing success in her earthly house! Martha spoke out and Mary poured out! We must understand that as a child of God, we walk in the natural and spiritual simultaneously! You can be "busy" in the world with your mind on things of God. We never separated ourselves from the "Spirit of the Living God". "In Him we live and move and have our being..." (Acts 17:28). We often get so caught up in what we don't have in this earth that we forget what we do have in our spiritual home. Faith does not deny the reality of problems in this world - but faith in God knows there is a way of escape!
Jochebed – Who Was She?
She is mentioned by name only twice in the Bible, in Exodus 6:20 and Numbers 26:59. Most Bible readers don’t even know her name! The testimony of her life tells us it is not so much who you are but what you do with your life, how you meet life’s crisis and responsibilities, that matter!  Jochebed was a woman of God, used greatly by God because she did not allow crisis in her life to overcome her or her family. Jochebed had the unique opportunity to raise three leaders! This remarkable woman was unknown by man, but known by God. Her life speaks loudly through her children. Although Jochebed was born into slavery, she had kept her faith in God and His faithfulness to His people!  Her husband was with her in faith, yet it was Jochebed who set God's plan in motion. A plan that would not only save her son, but also deliver a nation! Hebrews 11:23 gives us the key to deliverance.“By faith Moses when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.” What did they see?
